Web Design in Red Deer

We build websites for businesses in Red Deer. We're based here, the work happens here, and if something ever breaks you're talking to the person who built it.

Most of what we do is WordPress — proper custom builds, not a template with your logo dropped in the corner. We host them on Canadian servers, keep them updated, and handle the security so you never have to think about it. One invoice, one person to call.

What a Red Deer business actually needs from a website

Red Deer has thousands of businesses across a wide spread — trades and construction, oilfield services, health clinics, retail, professional firms, manufacturing. Different businesses, but their websites usually fail in the same four ways.

The phone number isn't tappable. More than half your visitors are on a phone, and a good share of them are trying to call you right now. If your number is baked into an image, or sitting in the footer three scrolls down, you're losing calls you'll never know about.

Everything is on one page. A single long page listing twelve services can only rank for one thing. Split it — one page per service — and you're suddenly competing for twelve searches instead of one. This is the most common fix we make, and it's usually the one that moves the needle.

It's slow on a phone. Not on your office wifi — on a phone, on the highway, on three bars. That's where most people meet your site for the first time. If it takes eight seconds, they're gone before it loads.

The Google listing and the website disagree. Different hours, different phone number, different address format. Google reads that as uncertainty and ranks you lower for it. It takes twenty minutes to fix and almost nobody does it.

None of this is about how a site looks. It's the difference between a site that brings in work and a site that just exists.

What's included

Every site we build comes with the whole thing handled:

  • A custom WordPress build designed around how your business actually operates, not a stock theme
  • Canadian hosting, included in your monthly — your site and your customers' information stay in Canada
  • Cloudflare in front of everything — HTTPS, DDoS protection, bot filtering on your contact forms, and edge caching so it loads fast
  • A page for every service you offer, structured to compete in local search
  • Google Business Profile help — We'll set up or tune your listing with you, so its hours, categories, and services match the site exactly
  • Structured data (schema markup) so Google understands what you do and where you do it
  • Ongoing updates and maintenance — WordPress core, plugins, backups, monitoring
  • Someone to call — small changes come with your plan, and anything larger is quoted before we start

How it works

We talk for 30 minutes. What you do, who your customers are, what you wish your current site did. No presentation, no pitch deck.

we send you a plan and a fixed price. Pages, timeline, what's included, and what it costs monthly after launch. Nothing vague.

we build it. You see it at the halfway mark and again before launch — real input, not a "final approval" on something that's already done.

We launch, and then we look after it. Hosting, updates, backups, and security are covered by your plan, along with small content changes; bigger work is quoted as it comes up. You're not handed a login and left to figure it out.

Who we work with

We take on a small number of clients at a time. That's deliberate — it means the person who built your site is the same person who answers when you email, and we can actually remember what your business does.

Our clients are in Central Alberta — Red Deer and the communities around it. Recent local work includes A Couple of Painters, a Red Deer painting company, and real estate websites for Central Alberta REALTORS® through our own platform, PropertyConnector.

Real estate websites are their own thing

If you're a REALTOR®, your website has requirements a normal business site doesn't — live MLS® listings, map search, feature sheets, and CREA compliance. We build those on PropertyConnector, our own platform for Canadian REALTORS®: your listings sync automatically from CREA's DDF®, and the site is hosted and managed the same way as everything else we build. The package and pricing are laid out on the PropertyConnector site.

More than websites

Websites are most of what we do, but not all of it. We also take on IT consulting projects for Central Alberta businesses — networks, Microsoft 365, security, and fixed-fee IT and cybersecurity audits for organizations that want to know exactly where they stand. Details are on the IT consulting page.

Free website review

Send us your web address. We'll send back a short, plain-language review: what's working, what isn't, and what we'd fix first — in the order we'd fix it.

No charge, no obligation, and we won't follow up unless you ask us to. If you take the list and do it yourself, that's a good outcome.

Questions we hear a lot

What does a website cost in Red Deer?

Most small-business sites we build land between $1,000 and $4,000 to design and launch, plus a hosting & care plan from $179/month for hosting, security, and maintenance. The range depends mostly on how many pages you need and whether you're starting from scratch or moving an existing site. We quote a fixed price before any work starts — you'll never get a surprise invoice.

How long does it take?

Usually three to five weeks from our first conversation to launch. The part that takes longest is almost always content — photos, service descriptions, your bio. If you have that ready, it moves quickly.

Do we own the website?

You own your domain, your content, and your data — the domain is registered in your name, and every word, photo, and customer inquiry belongs to you. The site itself runs on our managed platform: WordPress plus software we build and maintain, which is part of what your monthly fee covers. If we ever part ways, your domain and a complete export of your content and data go with you promptly and with no hard feelings — what a new provider would rebuild is the site itself, the same as when you leave any managed website service. We put all of this in writing before we start.

Can you fix our existing site instead of rebuilding it?

Usually the honest answer is a rebuild. Everything we manage runs on our own platform — that's how we keep every site fast, secure, and supported — so we don't take over maintenance of sites built elsewhere. What we will do is review your current site for free, tell you what's worth keeping (your content, your photos, and the search rankings we'd preserve with proper redirects), and if a rebuild isn't worth it for you yet, we'll say so plainly.

Where is our site hosted?

On Canadian servers, in Canada. If your site collects names, emails, or phone numbers, keeping that data on Canadian infrastructure keeps it aligned with Canadian privacy law and out of foreign jurisdictions' reach.

Do you do SEO too?

Yes. Every site we build is structured for local search from the start — service pages, structured data, help with your Google Business Profile, and the technical foundation. Ongoing SEO work beyond that is a separate conversation, and we'll be straight with you about whether you need it.

Do you work with businesses outside Red Deer?

Regularly — across Central Alberta and beyond. See Lacombe, Sylvan Lake, and Blackfalds.
