Websites for Churches & Nonprofits

A church or nonprofit website has one job most business sites don't: it has to stay accurate with nobody paid to look after it. Service times, meeting nights, contacts, and events keep changing — and the site has to keep up on a volunteer's schedule and a nonprofit's budget.

We build websites for churches, nonprofits, and community organizations across Central Alberta — any denomination, and secular organizations just the same. Built on WordPress, hosted in Canada, and set up so whoever takes over the role next can keep it current.

Built so volunteers can actually run it

The usual story: someone capable builds the site, life moves on, and two years later nobody has the password, the events page says 2023, and everyone is afraid to touch it.

We build on standard WordPress and set the site up for exactly that reality. The things that change often — service times, events, contacts, announcements — are simple to edit, and we'll walk your people through them until they're comfortable. Everything else stays our job: hosting, security, updates, and backups are covered by the care plan, so the site never depends on any one volunteer staying.

And when nobody has time that month, email us — small changes are part of the care plan, and anything bigger gets a fair quote first.

What a church or nonprofit site actually needs

  • Service times and meeting details that are easy to keep current — the single most-checked thing on the site, and the most embarrassing when it's wrong
  • A page for each ministry or program, so people can find the thing they're looking for — and so search engines can too
  • An events page someone can update in minutes
  • A giving page that links people to your existing giving provider — donations flow through their secure system, not through the website
  • Contact that reaches a real person, not an inbox nobody checks
  • Real photos of your community (with permission) — they say more than any stock image can

Honest about budgets

Most church and nonprofit sites land at the lower end of our $1,000 to $4,000 range to design and build, plus a hosting & care plan from $179/month that covers hosting, security, updates, and support.

If the budget isn't there yet, we'll tell you what we'd do first with what you have — sometimes the right first step is fixing the Google listing and cleaning up what already exists, and we'll say so rather than sell you a site you're not ready for.

Readable by everyone you serve

Community organizations serve everyone — including people on older phones, slower connections, and screen readers. We build with readable type, proper contrast, and pages that load fast on any device. It's the right thing to do, and it's also simply good for how you're found online.

Questions we hear a lot

What does a church or nonprofit website cost?

Most land at the lower end of our $1,000 to $4,000 build range, plus a hosting & care plan from $179/month covering hosting, security, updates, and support. Fixed quote before any work starts — and if the budget isn't there yet, we'll tell you what we'd do first with what you have.

Can our volunteers update it themselves?

Yes — that's a design requirement, not an afterthought. It's standard WordPress, the frequently changed things are simple to edit, and we'll walk your people through them. Beyond that, small tweaks are included in the care plan; bigger jobs are quoted before we start — and you'll always know which is which up front.

Does our denomination matter?

No. We build for churches of any denomination, and for secular nonprofits, clubs, and community groups just the same. The website reflects your organization and your voice — not ours.

Can you set up online giving or donations?

Yes — by connecting the site to the giving provider you already use (or helping you choose one). Donations flow through their secure, receipted system; the website's job is making the give button easy to find.

We have a website but nobody knows who controls it anymore. Can you help?

Yes, and it's extremely common for volunteer-run organizations. We can usually trace where the domain is registered and what's needed to recover control — worth sorting out before a renewal lapses.

Do you help with technology beyond the website?

Yes — networks, Microsoft 365, security, and the nonprofit licensing many organizations never claim. See IT consulting.

How long does it take?

Two to four weeks for most sites. The slow part is usually gathering photos and program details — if a couple of your people can pull those together, it moves quickly.
